Sweden signs $200 million contract with BAE Systems to buy 127 BvS10 armored vehicles

Swedish army procurement company has signed a $200 million contract with BAE Systems for 127 BvS10 Viking (native identify Bandvagn 410) tracked armored amphibious vehicles.

Deliveries of the 127 vehicles are deliberate to start in 2022 and full in 2024.

The car can traverse rocks, mountains, snow, swamps, and Arctic environments, and its amphibious functionality permits it to seamlessly transition to swimming. The BvS10’s versatile and modular design accommodates altering mission necessities, together with superior battle administration.

Sweden already operates the BvS10 in addition to its predecessor Bv206, and including extra BvS10s to the fleet will improve the Army’s potential to perform its mission.

The Swedish BvS10s function enhanced crew ergonomics, better inside quantity, and superior safety, constructing on BAE Systems’ legacy Bv206 vehicles, of which greater than 10,000 have been offered to greater than 40 international locations. The BvS10 has been deployed for missions to Afghanistan, Central Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East.

Today Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom are operators of the BvS10.
