Two transatlantic pen pals have been reunited after a wait of over 70 years.
In 1957, 11-year-old Jim Johnston from Belfast responded to an advert in a kids’s journal about pen pals.
He was quickly put in contact with an American boy who was the same age – Fred Heard from Klamath Falls, Oregon.
The two corresponded for a number of months, however because it the case for a lot of pen pals, life acquired in the way in which they usually lost contact.
