Colchester have parted company with head coach Steve Ball after a 13-game winless run in League Two.
A 2-1 defeat by promotion hopefuls Exeter City on Tuesday left the U’s twenty first in the desk, 9 factors away from the relegation zone.
Colchester appointed former participant and assistant supervisor Ball, 51, final July because the successor to John McGreal, who left the membership after defeat to Exeter in final season’s play-off semi-finals.
In a membership assertion, proprietor and chairman Robbie Cowling stated: “Following the game tonight and a discussion I had with Steve, it was decided that the best way forward was for him to leave his position as head coach.
“Steve has been with the membership in completely different capacities for a very long time and I would love it positioned on report our due to him for his arduous work and dedication.”
Ball’s final victory in cost was a 1-0 win at Scunthorpe on December 8.
Colchester haven’t revealed who will take interim cost, or whether or not Ball’s assistant Hayden Mullins will stay on the membership.
