Nolan Arenado has solely been a Cardinal for a couple of weeks, however it seems he is eager on remaining in St. Louis for a very long time.
The 29-year-old’s contract consists of two opt-out clauses, together with one on the finish of the 2021 season. However, the five-time All-Star informed Jared Carrabis and Dallas Braden on the “Starting 9” podcast that he is unlikely to use these opt-outs.
“There’s a very high chance I will not be opting out,” Arenado stated. “You know, very, very high. I didn’t come here to do that. I think (the opt-outs were) part of the deal, that was part of how we made the contract and how we made it look right and put those things in there, but I plan on being a Cardinal for the rest of the way out, that’s my goal.”
