Lakers’ Marc Gasol frustrated with role since Andre Drummond signing

Marc Gasol’s enjoying time has been diminished since the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Andre Drummond, and the veteran massive man is not thrilled about it.  

After a 115-94 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, the veteran heart admitted that he has been questioning his place on the group, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

“I think there’s an ‘if’ — ‘if’ they need you. And it’s a big ‘if,'” Gasol mentioned when requested about Lakers coach Frank Vogel repeatedly stating Gasol’s continued significance. “You’re not Plan A right now. You’re Plan C, D. … You have to accept it because that’s your job. And that’s what you sign up to do. It’s never easy to accept that.”

Gasol is the group’s third possibility behind Drummond and 2019-20 Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell. However, he was thrust again into the beginning lineup on Friday resulting from Drummond’s toe damage. The 36-year-old notched 5 factors, 9 rebounds and 6 assists within the win. 

Gasol signed a two-year deal with L.A. throughout the offseason value somewhat greater than $5 million to observe in his brother Pau Gasol’s footsteps and assist lead the Lakers to a different title. 

The Spaniard entered Friday’s contest averaging profession lows in factors (4.8), rebounds (3.9), discipline purpose share (40.3%) and minutes (19.5).
