Maharashtra Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray order asking police officers to keep a tab on migrants coming to Mumbai has sparked an argument, with the BJP lodging a complaint towards the CM.
BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar filed a complaint on the Samta Nagar police station on Tuesday, demanding motion towards Uddhav Thackeray underneath Section 156 (A) of the IPC for “trying to create hatred between communities and disrupting communal harmony and peace in public life”.
WHAT EXACTLY DID UDDHAV THACKERAY SAY?
CM Thackeray and Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil had referred to as an essential assembly on Monday of prime police officers to talk about points associated to ladies’s security within the state. This comes within the backdrop of Saki Naka rape case.
The case pertains to the brutal rape and assault on a 32-year-old girl inside a tempo in Mumbai’s Saki Naka space earlier this month. The accused first raped the girl after which inserted a rod in her personal components, leaving her in a vital situation. The sufferer succumbed to extreme inner accidents at an area hospital on Saturday.
In the wake of the incident, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray had summoned prime officers of the Mumbai Police and directed them to file a chargesheet within the case inside 30 days.

Since an autorickshaw was used within the crime, Uddhav Thackeray has additional instructed the police officers to cease unlawful switch of autorickshaws. On account of the accused within the rape case being a migrant, the chief minister reportedly instructed officers to keep a file of migrants coming to Mumbai and to “keep track of their movements”.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar objected strongly to the chief minister’s directive.
“CM’s statement has created a rift between two communities. It also creates a perception among people that migrants are rapists and has created fear in the minds of migrants. Hence, I have filed a complaint against the CM,” Bhatkhalkar mentioned.
Following the BJP’s complaint, Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande hit out at Atul Bhatkhalkar.
“The directions was given in wake of the Saki Naka rape case. States like Goa and Karnataka also keep record of migrants. In wake of Corona even the Centre had asked states to keep record of migrants. I think Mr Bhatkhalkar has lost his mind. He is making such statements out of frustration,” Manisha Kayande mentioned.
