A particular Konkan disaster mitigation programme price ₹3,200 crore was authorised by the State Cabinet on Wednesday.
The determination to implement the undertaking was taken within the wake of successive pure calamities together with the latest cyclone Tauktae which brought about large-scale destruction throughout the area’s shoreline.
While ₹2,000 crore can be spent by the State disaster mitigation fund, the remainder can be spent over the following 4 years by the State funds. A particular plan can be ready for capability constructing and preparedness which may also goal sufficient and complete use of the fund.
A particular Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) and advisers can be appointed for the efficient implementation of the undertaking.
“Konkan has been facing a number of natural disasters in the last few years. There is a need to come up with a comprehensive plan to prepare for the calamity and reduce the impact on financial and human cost. This special programme is aimed at doing the same,” stated an official.
