(CNN) — A girl allegedly assaulted a flight attendant throughout an American Airlines flight from Miami to New York City, in response to a grievance launched by federal prosecutors.
The altercation between Chenasia I. Campbell and the flight attendant occurred halfway via American Airlines Flight 1357, in response to the federal grievance filed in New York.
The flight left Miami simply earlier than midnight Saturday, and arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport at roughly 2:14 a.m. Sunday, in response to airline spokesman Curtis Blessing.
In a assertion, American Airlines stated that “a customer who refused to comply with the federal face mask requirement assaulted a crew member while in flight.”
“Violence of any kind is not tolerated by American,” the assertion stated.
CNN has requested authorities in regards to the airline’s allegation that the passenger violated a federal masks mandate, which isn’t talked about within the grievance. A spokesperson stated they may not remark past the allegations contained within the grievance.
The grievance says Campbell left her seat and adopted a flight attendant to a crew space, allegedly yelling at that attendant for not selecting up her rubbish.
Another flight attendant tried to intervene, and the defendant accused that flight attendant of pushing her, in response to the grievance.
Campbell then struck the intervening flight attendant with closed fists and pulled the attendant’s hair, in response to the grievance.
Later, Campbell returned to the crew space after arguing with one other passenger and allegedly acknowledged that the “cops aren’t going to do anything to me,” earlier than putting the flight attendant once more with closed fists inflicting the pair to fall to the ground. Campbell additionally tried to drag up or take away the flight attendant’s costume, the grievance states.
