From the Field: Pioneer brings farming jobs to marginalized Bangladesh communities

  • UN News

Farzeen Alam, a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, was laughed off when he approached banks for a mortgage to begin his farming enterprise: immediately, Oggro Dairy helps to decrease unemployment, significantly amongst marginalized youth.

Oggro Dairy is the first social enterprise devoted to agriculture in Bangladesh. Founded in 2007 by Mr. Alam, the enterprise works with farmers throughout the nation, producing a wide range of agricultural merchandise equivalent to milk, potato, corn, and orchids.

The purpose is to create constructive social affect for farmers, particularly girls and youth, supply honest pricing, prime quality merchandise to prospects, and to preserve the surroundings.
