Zackery Torres is opening up in regards to the pressures of dancing on tv.
The Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition and Dance Moms alum, who got here out as transgender in May and makes use of they/she pronouns, spoke to Page Six in regards to the difficulties of being a performer on the packages.
“That was the first time I really understood what it meant to be bullied into dancing a certain way,” the 22 yr previous shared of their time on the Lifetime reveals. “I don’t really know whose fault it is. I think we have the system to blame, and I think that it’s something we all need to be aware of and continue speaking out about.”
Zackery additionally shared that his mom Gina Torres did not just like the behind-the-scenes drama. “That’s always what threw her off, like, ‘These people are kind of mean,'” they defined.
The dancer added, “There’s a lot of detrimental moments that really kind of set me back as a young person and being on that TV show.”
