A 17-year-old Harvard-bound pupil has supplied to offer her $40,000 scholarship to somebody else.
According to CBS News, Verda Tetteh, who’s graduating from Fitchburg High School in Massachusetts, obtained a full scholarship to Harvard and gained a further $40,000 scholarship from her faculty.
While talking on the commencement ceremony, Tetteh stated, “I am so very grateful for this but I also know that I am not the one who needs this the most.”
She additionally added, “I’m excited to see who it helps and how that changes their life, so I am so happy that God gave me the strength to do that.”

The teen obtained a standing ovation.
Tetteh advised CBS News, “It simply was the thought that somebody sitting right here may need a wrestle like my mother did when she was going to neighborhood school.”
Rosemary, her mom, moved Verda to the U.S. when she was a toddler from their native of Ghana. She advised CBS News, “I used to be simply completely happy, I stood up and began shouting so loud! I used to be afraid these in entrance of me can be like, ‘Why is she that loud?’ But I used to be so completely happy together with her choice.”
It’s not but been introduced who will obtain the $40,000 scholarship.
Tetteh will examine chemistry at Harvard.
