Das, son of a businessman, mentioned he had taken admission in the Sai International School Bhubaneswar after passing out class X from an Odia medium college in Balasore. As he didn’t like hostels, his mom got here to stick with him at his rented lodging in the town. “Initially, I was facing problems understanding English and terminology of some subjects. I faced a problem in the Plus II the first year. After the intervention of teachers, I came out of the language issues within a few months,” he added.

He mentioned the Covid-19 pandemic has not created any hurdle for his preparation. “Though the Covid-19 has created havoc across the world, it did not impact my study. I got ample time at home for study as I did not travel to coaching class and school. Examinations were conducted in a safe environment with proper social distancing,” he added.

Das was additionally the Odisha topper of the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) to get a seat in the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER).
