Covid-19 surge: School for classes 1 to 9 shut in Gujarat – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: School for classes I to IX had been directed to be shut for an indefinite interval in (*9*) from Monday amid an increase in Covid-19 circumstances, officers stated.

However, as per the choice taken at a gathering chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday, classroom educating for requirements X and XII in addition to faculties would proceed, they added.

“All offline classes of standard 1 to 9 in government and private schools will be closed down for an indefinite period from Monday. Online education will be encouraged. The decision was taken keeping in mind safety of students when Covid-19 cases have surged in the state,” a launch from the CM’s workplace stated.

Schools and faculties in the state, which had been closed since March final 12 months after a lockdown was imposed to sort out the outbreak, had been reopened in phased method from January this 12 months.

School for classes X to XII in addition to lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in faculties resumed on January 11, which was adopted by resumption of classes IX and XI from February 8.

(*9*), on Friday, reported 2640 circumstances, the best single-day addition, in addition to 11 deaths.
