Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission urged to review power tariff | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: Three review petitions have been filed with the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) relating to the proceedings to decide the common value of provide (ACoS) of electrical energy for the 2021-22 monetary yr.
Ananda Mohapatra, who works for the rights of power shoppers, has filed the review petitions on April 26 towards the retail provide tariff (RST) order of the 4 distribution firms (discoms), bulk provide worth (BSP) order of Gridco and transmission tariff (TT) order of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) issued by the OERC on March 26 in search of review of the elevated RST by 30 paisa/unit, BSP by eight paisa/unit and TT by three paisa/unit for the continued fiscal.
For the primary time, a respondent has filed three review petitions on behalf of the state and shoppers at massive for review of the fee’s order, mentioned Mohapatra.
He mentioned individuals of the state have proven displeasure over the power tariff hike by 30 paisa per unit on March 26. “Even the political leaders had stalled the assembly session over this hike on March 31. They had not only demanded the withdrawal of 30 paisa per unit but also the 20 paisa per unit hike that was announced in September last year,” he added.
Mohapatra mentioned he has cited 10 errors within the RST order, 5 errors in BSP order and three errors in TT order handed by OERC. The petitioner has prayed on the finish of the petitions to hold the elevated tariff order in abeyance until the disposal of the review petitions by the fee. Revised power tariff had come into impact from April 4.
