Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla instructed CNBC on Wednesday that he expects life may return to regular for developed international locations by the end of this yr and the relaxation of the world by the end of 2022.
By that point, there must be sufficient Covid-19 vaccine doses for many world leaders to efficiently inoculate their populations in opposition to the virus, Bourla stated throughout an interview with Andrew Ross Sorkin at the CNBC Evolve Global Summit.
“I think the whole world will have enough volumes [of vaccine doses] by the end of 2022 to vaccinate, to protect everyone,” he stated. “And I think that by the end of this year, the developed world will already be in this situation.”
Pfizer and German associate BioNTech hit the milestone of manufacturing 1 billion doses of their Covid vaccine final week, Bourla instructed CNBC. The firms count on to manufacture up to 3 million doses this yr.
